ELEVEN answers! I am heartened! This is indeed Edwin Booth, a famous actor whose stature was akin to that of Marlon Brando in his time! He is also considered by many as the greatest American actor of the 19th century.

He once saved a young man from being run over by a train just as the individual was about to be sucked under it from the platform. That was Robert Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln. Edwin also happened to have a brother called John Wilkes Booth, who, as we all know, went on to assassinate Abe Lincoln!
