What is the claim to fame of this tree? And by what name is it referred to now? Interesting info: it’s exact location is not disclosed to ward off any vandals that might want to deface it.

Six answers, and all correct! This is indeed the Methuselah tree, the oldest tree in the world! Carbon dated to be more than 4,800 years old, it's named after Methuselah, the oldest person mentioned in the (Hebrew) Bible, who lived to be 969 years old!
