These 50 peso coins from Chile have the name of the country printed wrong. And this came to notice only after some coin collector called the mint that had issued the coin about the mistake! The coins had been in circulation for quite a few months by then!

That's a coin from Chile ... the inscription on it reads "Chiie" instead of "Chile" .. raising questions that the coins manufactured were flawed ...

Very easy.. CHILE was misspelt as CHIIE, so the GM of chilean mint was sacked
ReplyDeleteHere the name of Chile is wrongly spelled as CHIIE. The general manager of Chilean mint, Gregorio Iniguez had to lose his job because of this omission. (February 2010).
