QR – Cure – Quizzing Realms – 219

Easy one.

What was the name of the aircraft-carrying vessel that Indira Gandhi had stationed in the Bay of Bengal to carry out attacks on merchant vessels in Chittagong during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, which led to the freedom of Bangladesh in 1972? Hint: Since then, the name of this vessel has been bestowed upon ships of its class made in India at the Cochin Shipyard Limited.

Happy quizzing, and have a nice life, folks!

PS: Many of you will be flummoxed by how we had crossed the 20,000 mark yesterday, but are positioned at nearly 28,000 now! Well, there’s an explanation. The previous counter was added when this blog was already 100 questions old. It was a third party counter. Only recently did I come to know that Blogspot has started its own counter, and kept track of all my stats since the first day! That’s where the missing 8,000 comes from! so now that I am using Blogspot’s own counter, hope there will be less hassles, and less of a problem for you people!

***********

Looks like this wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. Just five answers, all of which are correct in some way. The vessel was the INS Vikrant and the class is the Vikrant-class, equivalent of Majestic-class vessels.
