QR – Cure – Quizzing Realms – 208

The word itself is a portmanteau of two different words. The kind of people this word describes actually took down a website, its ISP and DNS provider, just because the website was providing a security tool that would cause spammers to delete email addresses of those who joined a community for anti-spamming, and didn’t want to receive any more spam mails!

These people have assumed new ‘significance’ after MasterCard, PayPal and Amazon refused services to WikiLeaks. What one word describes these people?

Just one answer, but illiteratepoet NAILED IT! the answer is indeed the Devil’s Horns: the \m/ gesture we do with our hands! Ronnie James Dio popularised it in rock culture, the gesture was a part of Rajini’s Baba, and even features on the cover, and it was also a gesture often used by Bret The Hitman Hart!

This is a slightly difficult one, and more so if you don’t google it.

what

In what way is this film a first in India? There are enough hints in the poster.

Happy quizzing, and have a nice life, folks!

PS: More of my articles are up on the article blog. And a new one up on the opinion blog. Check them out and leave some feedback, please!

Six replies, but I can give it to only three for the full answer. Pritfloyd mentions the film and its ensemble cast. The film is correct, so half points there. Vishnu Prasad mentions the ‘guerrilla film’ thing, but doesn’t mention that this was the first. And someone anonymous thought that this was a Bengali film! Anyways, this is indeed Onan, India’s first full length feature film shot with guerrilla tactics. Dhobi Ghaat has used guerrilla tactics too, and that’s how I got to know about this one.

Vikas Swarup : Q&A. Made into Slumdog Millionaire

People of the country, where this book was written and initially published, needed to know it by heart in order to obtain a driver’s license! It was considered to be a holy book, and still is, by many people of this country. Apparently, any person who read it thrice would automatically go to heaven!. (Big hint follows:) The purported author of this book, also the ‘President for life’ of this country, ordered that a copy of the book be sent to space, and the order was complied with!

Name the book, the author and the country.

Happy quizzing, and have a nice life, folks!

Just two answers! All off for the weekend, kya? Babbar and Karthike are obviously correct. This is indeed Ruhnama, ‘written’ by Saparmurat Niyazov, President for Life of Turkmenistan. Btw, that’s just a euphemism for ‘Dictator’. PS: The ‘written’ part is in quotes because he was functionally illiterate!

Six answers, and all correct! Barbie and Ken were named after the two children of Ruth Handler, who created Barbie, the doll! Hence, they are siblings, and any non-platonic relationship between them would be incestuous!
