QR–Cure–Quizzing Realms–352

This is my tribute to all engineers who have struggled with Electronics in their first year. By the way, the original is not mine, and neither do I claim copyright to it. And that leaves me vulnerable to SOPA and Sibal, I guess. (I know the discrepancies, but just trying to increase some awareness here.)

what

Simple. Tell me what to words are blocked out from this webcomic. The drawings are a hint as to what they are.

PS: Given below are the questions for Mind Your Business Quiz, edition 10, by yours truly. It is published every Friday in The Financial World, New Delhi edition.

Simple part: Identify the work of fiction this music belongs to. Difficult: Identify the performers of this piece.

Oh, and also, given below are the questions for Mind Your Business Quiz, edition 9, by yours truly. It is published every Friday in The Financial World, New Delhi edition.

Not answered here, but on FB, where I had posted the link. The music, obviously, is from the Super Mario Brothers, but the performers are an eclectic bunch – the London Philharmonic Orchestra!

A slightly cryptic one for today.

The developers of an immensely famous multimedia software attributed a very unusual development with their product to four reasons.

  1. X 5 combines the best aspects of X 2 and X 3 into one player. Hence X 2 + X 3 =
    X 5!
  2. [Y]
  3. We think that a Fibonacci sequence for versioning might be pretty damn cool.
  4. We improved so much in X 5 that we figured it warranted Z.

X is the name of the software. The third reason, Y, contains a somewhat NSFW pun, and Z is the unusual development. Give me all three.

Oh, and also, given below are the questions for Mind Your Business Quiz, edition 9, by yours truly. It is published every Friday in The Financial World, New Delhi edition.

No answers again! X was Winamp, Y was ‘Because who would want to see ‘Winamp 4 skin’?’ Z was skipping a version. There was no Winamp 4 after Winamp 3. It went straight to Winamp 5.

Ok folks, I am back.

Shifted to Delhi about three months ago, and have been working for The Financial World, a relatively new newspaper from the Tehelka stable.

Managed to start a business quiz column here, so will upload those questions here too. Answer all of them correctly via SMS, and you could win a good book!

Meanwhile, here’s today’s question of the day.

Yeti-Crabs

This is a very specific kind of yeti crab. It got it nickname from a certain feature it has in common with the star of an erstwhile famous television show in the USA. What is the nickname?

Happy quizzing, and have a nice life, folks!

Just one answer? Expected better, folks! ‘Rage’ is correct. This is indeed The Hoff, named after the very hairy David Hasselhoff, of Baywatch and Knight Rider fame.
