This one’s going to be quite a bit convoluted.

The song A was supposed to have been composed for film B, starring X in the lead. Instead, gained fame when picturised on Y in the film C.

Years later, Y’s son Z starred in a film D, whose name and theme song were inspired by a famous song from one of X’s most famous films.

Strangely enough, Z is seen humming (more like ‘reciting’) the song A as he interrogates ‘suspects’ by injecting what is initially shown as a deadly cocktail of drugs into them.

Six answers, and only one went off the track, pointing towards Dawood Ibrahim, for some reason. All the others were right. This is indeed Anurag Kashyap. The song has him debuting as a singer, Shagird saw him as a full-time actor, as opposed to his small cameos and guest appearances earlier. Satya was a film he co-wrote.

The story goes that when, later, he went to the censor board with Paanch, they said that the film was not ‘constructive’. And that it had too much of rough language. Kashyap pointed out that he had written rougher dialogues for Satya, and it’s story wasn’t too ‘constructive’ either. Paanch, if I have heard correctly, is yet to see the light of the day.

As for the last clue, the day is named Black Friday, which also happens to be the name of one of Kashyap’s most critically-acclaimed and controversial films.

Apple and Samsung are engaged in several legal battles against each other in courts across at least nine countries. One of them is at the District Court for the Northern District of California, where Apple is trying to have four Samsung smartphones and tablets banned from the US due to alleged design patent infringement.

It was at this court that Samsung countered Apple’s allegations of it stealing from designs patented for the iPad with the argument that someone else had already designed an iPad-like device decades before the iLife giant.

In one of his stories, X mentions that one Iqbal Singh once wrote to him, claiming that X was his long-lost brother, separated from their family during the Partition of India and Pakistan. Apparently, X had revealed his real name in an interview, and it was the same as Iqbal’s younger brother. Iqbal had lost his younger brother and sister, the two youngest persons in his family, while travelling from Pakistan to India during the Partition.

Years later, when Iqbal had gone to the funeral of family-friend Afzal Chacha, they had found the little girl now grown and married into a Muslim family, bearing the name Dilshad. It had convinced Iqbal Singh that he would find his youngest brother, nicknamed Punni. He did not even pay attention to X’s letter, which said that X was already 11 years old and living in Delhi when the partition took place.

X finally met Iqbal’s family in 1985, and eight years later, when Iqbal informed him that his (Iqbal’s) father, whom his children called Darji, had died, X wrote that he felt as if his own Darji had passed away.

True, that the 17th Bond film was Goldeneye, but there was talk before that of a third Bond film starring Timothy Dalton. It never materialised. It’s simply known as Bond 17 now. Some websites, however, attribute the name The property of a lady to it.

X and Y are two films starring the same person. X was released in 1971. However, X’s intended name, which was very near to a Gene Hackman film that was released shortly before, was intended for it because of the theme of drugs in X. However, the initial names of X and Y got somehow interchanged. It was only in 2005 that the names were changed back again. As a result, Y came to be known what X was originally released as, but to reduce confusion, an alphabet was dropped from X’s original name, and the result became Y’s new name. X, on the other hand, came to be known by a different name. Give me the present names of both these films.
